Hydrogen storage units for ‘zero carbon’ transport
On 12 June 2019 the Government laid the draft Climate Change Act 2008 (2050 Target Amendment) Order 2019 to amend the Climate Change Act 2008 by introducing a target for at least a 100% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (compared to 1990 levels) in the UK by 2050. This is otherwise known as a net zero target.”1

The above law increases the urgency for Gas distribution networks, who operate a wide range of fleet vehicles, to adopt alternatively fueled vehicles. CNG (compressed natural gas) and Electric vehicles are currently being considered as potential alternatives for achieving this target, yet Hydrogen vehicles are also being explored.
