Secure Covering for Street Furniture

To reduce the impact of network interruptions for consumers, it is often necessary for electricity network operators to connect fault reclosing equipment, fault-finding equipment, and generators onto street furniture. ‘Street furniture’ refers to appliances such as link-boxes, low voltage pillars and streetlamps.

Once this equipment is installed onto street furniture, a protective covering is required, as the furniture’s original housing cannot be reapplied. This is due to the installed device extruding from the furniture’s opening, meaning it will no longer be possible to securely close its door or lid.
