This month, people around the globe are urged to pledge a month-long commitment to reduce their usage of single-use plastics, in honour of 'Plastic Free July'.

'Plastic Free July' is a global movement that has inspired over 250 million participants in 177 countries to use reduce their usage of single-use plastics, in order to ensure cleaner streets, oceans, and communities. The movement provides resources and ideas to help participants reduce their usage over the month, with the hopes that it will educate and inspire people to change their behaviours.

However, the road to net zero is a long one and we are committed to driving innovation that will ensure long term positive changes to our communities and the environment.

One area of particular focus for the energy industry is the use of single-use plastic packaging for components such as pipes and fittings.

How could you help reduce the use of single-use plastics in the energy industry?

In one of our latest calls for innovation we are working with our GDN partners to find alternative packaging solutions to reduce single use plastics commonly used to supply components that are used on site.

They are looking for innovative, robust alternatives to single use plastic packaging, to improve environmental impact compared to current practices.

Do you think you could have a solution?
