A robust analytical approach for vegetation management is required to enable National Grid to prioritise vegetation clearance activities, taking into account factors such as species and severity of the growth. 

The successful output to this problem will have the potential to influence the working practices of UK operators who are members of the United Kingdom Onshore Pipeline Operators’ Association (UKOPA) through best practices in vegetation management.
