Utility Week Live have launched a new weekly webinar series covering the impact of coronavirus on the utilities sector.


The webinar series, titled #AskUsAnything, sees experts from the industry join Utility Week Live to answer key question surrounding the industry response to coronavirus, what the next stage is likely to look like and what are the emerging signs on what the long-term implications of the virus will be on the regulatory and strategy landscape.


In their inaugural broadcast, they discussed the key topic of workforce resilience, and were joined by a panel of experts to engage in discussions and answer questions. The panel consisted of former Ofgem Executive Maxine Frerk, Nick Ellins, Chief Executive of Energy & Utility Skills group and Sue Ferns, Deputy General Secretary of the Prospect union.

Vulnerability in the time of Coronavirus 


The next episode in the #AskUsAnything weekly webinar series, will taking place Friday 3rd April at 11.45am. 


In this episode, questions will be posed to experts with a focus on customer vulnerability. 


They will be exploring: 


  • How the definition of a vulnerable customer will change as a result of the pandemic and its effects on the economy
  • Best practice in how companies are providing for and communicating with their customers
  • What the next steps should be in an ever-changing scenario.

Expert speakers include Matthew Vickers, CEO, Energy Ombudsman, Andy White, Senior Policy Manager, CCW and a senior representative from Ofgem.
