Please can you tell us about your role at the EIC?
I joined the EIC in 2009. Whilst my role has changed over the years, my focus has always been on delivering our KPIs. My current role, as part of the operational leadership team, is Discovery Workstream Lead. This includes supporting the team with the early-stage development of proposals and calls for innovation.
Can you tell us a bit about your background?
Previous to working at the EIC, I worked in commercial insurance and banking. I took a career break to have my two children, and then returned to HSBC as Customer Service Counsellor, before joining the EIC in 2009.
What is your biggest achievement?
My children – I am immensely proud of their drive, ambition and achievements.
What is your favourite thing about working at the EIC?
Being reactive, working with talented colleagues, and never knowing what the day holds despite having a to do list!
If you could invite any 3 people (living or deceased) to a dinner party, who would you invite and why?
Freddie Mercury because of his amazing talent, Gareth Thomas because of his bravery, and my Mum because I never really got to know her.
What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
Every day is a school day, and to always confirm things in writing!
