With just one
week to go until Utility Week Live 2019, here at the EIC we are busy making
preparations for our exciting Innovation Zone.
We
welcome all innovators to come along and meet our fantastic team of gas,
electricity and water engineers, to gain valuable insights into becoming a
member of our innovation community; working with our partner energy networks
and water companies; and getting involved with the latest innovative industry
projects.
There
will also be the opportunity to find out more about our Energy Innovation Awards 2019 - we will be on hand to answer any
questions about the application process and the benefits of entering one of the
most prestigious awards in the industry.
What’s
more, our collaborative stand will be hosting ten SMEs from our innovation
community, as they showcase their revolutionary ideas, which aim to aid the
facilitation of a transition into a smarter, more flexible energy system.
Alongside
the EIC Innovation Zone, there will be a brand new Electricity Zone joining the exhibition.
Headed
by four major DNOs (Scottish & Southern Electricity Network, SP Energy
Networks, UK Power Networks and Northern Power Grid) and National Grid
Transmission, the Electricity Zone will focus on championing collaboration, and
establishing a unified approach to driving transition and innovation in the
sector.
We
encourage any third-parties to visit the Electricity Zone to share new ideas
with industry leaders and talk to the networks about how they can get involved
in upcoming projects.
The
EIC Innovation Zone will be located at stand F30, with the Electricity Zone positioned nearby at stand F7.
In
other exciting news, The Big Energy Pitch will also be
returning for Utility Week Live 2019.
Back
by popular demand, The Big Energy Pitch
will give a selected group of SMEs the opportunity to demonstrate their new,
ground-breaking technologies before a panel of industry experts and gain
invaluable feedback on their innovations.
Judges
this year include:
- Adrian Cronin, Research and Strategy Lead
at Ervia;
- Wayne Smith, Innovation Implementation
Manager at Northern Gas Networks;
- Paul Jordan, Business Leader, Innovator
Support and International at Energy Systems Catapult;
- Geraint Herbert, Innovation Network
Assistant at Wales & West Utilities;
- Kyle Lewis, Innovation Delivery Manager at Wales & West Utilities;
- Joe McNeil, NIA Programme Delivery Manager at Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks;
- Ian Cameron, Head of Innovation at UK Power Networks.
The Big Energy Pitch will be held over the two
days of the exhibition, with a winner being picked on each day.
We
look forward to seeing you at UWL 2019 and discussing all things innovative!
