3 Innovation Funding Opportunities

Do you a great innovative idea, but you need funding to make it a reality?

This month, our Innovation Community Lead, Liam Bolton, has picked out his top three ‘EIC funding finds’:


1. Driving the Electric Revolution: Supply Chains for Net Zero Competition


Driving the Electric Revolution, part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF), is working with Innovate UK (IUK), and investing in innovation projects that support the UK ‘s move to net zero.


UK registered businesses of any size can apply for funding for research into supply chain development for power electronics, electric machines and drives.


Maximum value: £ 5,000,000 


Competition closing date: Wednesday 30 June 2021 (11:00 GMT)


2. Energy for Tomorrow (EfT)


Energy for Tomorrow (EfT) is a UK scheme that supports entrepreneurs with innovations that tackle climate change, lower energy bills and deliver tangible positive impacts to people and communities.


Grants from £100,000 - £500,000 each are awarded over a period of up to three years.

Priority goes to smaller companies (turnover of less than £1 million) and UK-focused projects.


There is no set deadline for this award, you can apply all year round.


3. The Prospectory - Idea Fund


Calling UK-based individuals or small organisations with a novel technical idea!


The Idea micro fund could be the ideal place to start. It offers grants from £250 to £5,000.


Your proposal will be welcomed if it:

is based on a novel technical idea.

provides a social or environmental benefit.

is interesting, inventive and has a fun aspect.
